MySQL Upgrade?

Postby necochino » 18 Feb 2012, 22:25

Looking for help. I want to upgrade MySQL Server to 5.0 or better. I use one of the Duos as a server for XBMC, but can't put the database in it because 4.0 is not compatible. I've searched all over for the instructions (apt won't do it, and some instructions from a french blog also won't work). I do know lots of people have managed to install it. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers,

On the Duos with the latest firmware (and at least for some time now) the version of the MySQL server that comes with it is 5.0.24a. So it already is 5.0. Maybe you could post the actual error you're getting?

I had updgraded to RAIDiator 4.1.8 (mine's a V1 DUO). But the version was still 4.0 I'm performing the update again (as I type this). Will report later.
Many thanks, Xtras.

Well... I'll be... That was it. I did a new upgrade of the firmware. This time I downloaded the firmware and installed it locally. I had to reset a number of things (chown the directories and give root a password, then restart the server), but I am now running a v5.0. Many thanks again, Xtras !
