SANE Backends 1.0.22 (Sparc)

Description

SANE stands for "Scanner Access Now Easy" and is an application programming interface (API) that provides standardized access to any raster image scanner hardware (flatbed scanner, hand-held scanner, video- and still-cameras, frame-grabbers, etc.). SANE has no difficulty supporting command-line driven interfaces or network-transparent scanning.

In other words: With SANE you can connect your scanner to your ReadyNAS and scan from every workstation on your network - as long as there's a SANE frontend available for your client's operating system.

Requirements:

ReadyNAS Platform: Sparc
ReadyNAS Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.7+ (may work with earlier versions but that's untested)

Installation

Details:

• This addon adds the SANE backend drivers for many scanners to your ReadyNAS
• Only USB scanners are supported
• To make use of a scanner attached to your ReadyNAS, you need a SANE frontend like XSane, which is available for Linux and Windows

For a complete list of drivers included in this release please check the list of SANE supported devices.
Also check the list of SANE External Backends to see whether you need an additional driver for your scanner. Please note that the ReadyNAS only supports scanners attached to the USB bus. In other words: no serial and no SCSI scanners are supported.
