Description

This add-on provides the Linux UVC kernel drivers that are not shipping with the standard RAIDiator firmware of the ReadyNAS. These are needed to make USB webcams work with the ReadyNAS.

The goal of the Linux UVC driver project is to provide all necessary software components to fully support UVC compliant devices in Linux. The USB Video Class (UVC) defines video streaming functionality on the Universal Serial Bus. Much like nearly all mass storage devices can be managed by a single driver because they conform to the USB Mass Storage specification, UVC compliant peripherals only need a generic driver. The Linux UVC project will concentrate the development efforts on video input devices, especially webcams.

Requirements

  • ReadyNAS Platform: Intel
  • ReadyNAS Firmware: RAIDiator 4.2.16, 4.2.17
(the drivers work for kernel 2.6.37.5.RNx86 in the 32- and 64-bit version)

Required by

  • KMotion (optional, only needed if you want to use USB cams and/or video devices)
